The Gambia High Commission in Dakar led by His Excellency Hadrammeh M. Sidibeh, High Commissioner of the Republic of The Gambia to the Republic of Senegal accompanied by Ms. Fatou Kinneh Jobe, Deputy Head of Mission attended the 15th Forum on Economic Integration in Africa on 23rd October 2022 at King Fahd Palace in Dakar Senegal.

 

The Delegation from The Gambia to attend the Forum comprised of Honourable Ousman Bah, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Mr Yusupha Jobe, Director General PURA, Mr Abdoulie Jammeh, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Mr. Mutarr Trinn and Mr Waka Jagne of Africell as one of the main sponsors of the event.

The forum organized by FOGECA (Forum of Operators for the Guarantee of Economic Emergence in Africa) brought together government institutions, more than 400 African businessmen and economic operators from businesses, public and private companies to translate into action a common vision of development and economic integration in Africa. FOGECA’s main objectives are the promotion of the African economy in all sectors of activity, the development of a partnership between African economic operators and those of the rest of the world as well as the development of sub-regional and intercontinental trade.

Mr. Amadou Diagne, President of FOGECA delivered the opening remarks followed by brief remarks from Honourable Ousman Bah, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy and Minster of Commerce of Mali.

The forum provided an opportunity for analysis, discussion, sharing of experiences and convergence of interests with a view to better promote investment in Africa, but also for better consideration of its importance in the global economy and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Forum also created a window of opportunity for African and foreign investment in Africa and an opening on the assets of the geographical area, calls for tenders and public contracts. The work of the 15th edition focused on the following thematic sessions:

– The priority action framework (CAP25) of I’UDMOA

– The ZLECAF and the regulation mission of the CCJA of l’OHADIA

– The problem of air transport in Africa
