On Monday, 21st September 2026, following their historic triumph, the Gambia U17 Team paid a courtesy call on H.E. Hadrammeh M. Sidibeh, High Commissioner of the Republic of The Gambia to Senegal, together with members of the Mission staff. The High Commissioner congratulated the players and the technical team on their remarkable achievement and commended them for their exemplary discipline, professionalism, and patriotism throughout the tournament.
During the engagement, the High Commissioner emphasized that the team’s success represented more than a sporting accomplishment, describing it as a source of national pride and an inspiration to Gambian youth. He encouraged the Young Champions to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence as they continue to represent The Gambia in future continental and international competitions.
